Nourished by faith Have you ever seen a baby, after it is done eating, swaddle in blankets and being rocked? It is so content, almost in a state of pure serenity.

How often do we feel like this?

Yesterday, a deep cloud came over me. I don't know why, but it was heavy. I felt sadness wash over my body. I fell into that deep, dark place we sometimes go. Feeling lost, scared and alone.

When God bubbled up to words to me, Nourished by Faith.

I thought about this and asked God to help me understand what it meant.

What does it mean to be Nourished by Faith?

I know when I am not nourished by faith. I get this sense of emptiness. The feeling of being lost and disconnected. Something is missing. I want to fill it.

I want to nourish my mind, body and soul.

I've attempted to fill this void. by allowing the voice of the eating disorder to consume me.

Maybe you have felt this void too?

Maybe you fill your days with tasks and staying busy.

Maybe you “go shopping” buying things that really I did not need.

Maybe you fill it through unhealthy relationships, taking to people who gossip or complain.

Maybe by accumulating things or possessions.

Maybe through accomplishments, status, and accolades. "Needing to Always Win"

Maybe you fill it by seeking wealth or prosperity

Seeking these things that are of this world, hoping that you will feel satisfied.

We yearn and desire the feeling of completeness in our body, our mind, and souls.

Sometimes we try to get this feeling from the world around us. These things fill us for a moment but they do not last. We always yearn for something more.

Are we looking in the right places to fill our souls?

Why do we seek things of this world when God's grace is perfect?

"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."

 2 Corinthians 12:9, NKJV.

Why do we look outside of our Lord to fulfill the deep yearning that we have within?

Micah 7:7-8 says, “Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me”

God tells us we are beloved children. He will provide for us, and he will make a way rather than looking to things of this world. For nourishment of our mind and soul, we seek the Lord who provides all we need. God promises to provide what we need (Philippians 4:19, Matthew 6:31-32). He created the universe and gives food to every living thing — including you and me. The same God who provides food for the animals will not allow us to go without (Psalm 145:15-16, Luke 12:24-26).

Today Rest and seek God, knowing that his word will nourish your body, mind and soul.
