Our mini–Australian Shepherd also enjoys chasing cats. He's just making a lot of noise without doing anything, all talk, and no action. We have two cats, and their responses vary.

The small cat stays still and watches the barking dog, then with a casually confidence walks away. As if to say, “you can yip at me, but I know who I am, and you cannot cause me any harm”.

However, when our larger cat encounters the dog, he retreats and then the dog chases him barking. This cat is limited in where he goes and what he does because he is always thinking about the Dog and afraid. He doesn’t know that if he would just stand his ground that the dog would go away and leave his alone.

I couldn't help but think how this may apply in my life.

There are days when that devil’s tried to throwing fire arrows at me, do I start to run? Am I filled with fear, worry, anxiety? Or do I stay calm and draw on The Word of the Lord. Do I sit there and laugh and say, “your fire arrows will not come near me for I am protected and safe, by my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”.

If you feel like that cat when the devils shoots those arrow, I run hide in fear, I avoid things and do not step out with bold confidence. My desire is to be prepared with the Word of God and when these attacks come upon me, I am confident in His Word over my life.

Here are some versus to keep close and draw on if you ever feel like this.

Isaiah 54:17 - No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”

2 Thessalonians 3:3 - But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.

Psalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Deuteronomy 31:6 - Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.

Isaiah 41:10 - Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 34:7 - The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.

Psalm 32:7 - You are a hiding place for me; you preserve me from trouble; you surround me with shouts of deliverance.
